Yoga for a Healthy Body + Self Image
There is a misconception that yoga is for a specific body type. Have you been hesitant to attend a class because of your weight, shape, or doubt in your ability to do it “the right way”? Have you struggled with an eating disorder, disordered eating, or body/self-image? If so, this 6 week series is for you. We will practice gentle and restorative yoga in a safe, non-judgmental environment while exploring modifications that support you. Gentle and restorative yoga gives you space to let go so you can relax and explore what lies beneath the exterior. This series is designed to gently open you to your divine nature through yoga, breathing, relaxation, and writing. You are welcome to participate in weekly journal assignments and readings, allowing you to begin subtly shifting thought patterns and limited beliefs that hold you back. Tap into your inner strength and ignite your own power through yoga.

Open to all genders, ethnicities, ages, religions, body types, and people. All levels of yoga practitioners welcome and beginners are encouraged to try this class.

Do you feel at home in your body? Do your body and mind feel disconnected at times? Are you seeking a more peaceful relationship with your body or yourself?
Through discussion, identify what takes you into or out of your experience of the body, along with the social and cultural lenses through which you view yourself. We will explore the lens of Divine Self, or Purusha, to cultivate a meaningful connection to the physical body and personal power. Leave with basic tools that empower you from within. This workshop includes discussion, writing, moderate asana practice, pranayama, mantra, and subtle body exploration. Bring a journal or notebook.
Level: Beginner to Intermediate
Pre-requisites: Interest in self-image or body-image, yoga philosophy, or mind-body connection
