mindful eating & yoga Retreat
Sky Meadow Greensboro Bend, VT
Guest presenter: TATIANA ABaTEMARCO
Are you looking for connection to yourself and others? Space to explore? To cultivate self-love? Discover your worth? To make peace with your body, food, and eating?
This retreat is the start of your journey.
Mindful Eating & Yoga is an opportunity to unplug from daily habits and create space for healing your relationship to food, your body, and yourself. We will spend an April weekend simplifying - unplugging from technology, letting go of eating out and eating late, and other habits that take our energy away. You will immerse yourself in the practice and philosophy of yoga in a safe and welcoming space. We will share wholesome vegetarian meals, enjoy slow food tastings, and learn mindful eating techniques that will serve you for a lifetime! Most of the food prepared at Sky Meadow is grown on site or sourced locally depending on the time of year.
What does yoga have to do with eating and mindfulness? Yoga is a practice that leads one to stay present, moment to moment. Presence brings awareness. Awareness gives you clear vision and your breath supports you to stay with whatever comes up. Yoga is about understanding yourself and your relationship to self, which allows you to better understand your relationship to others and the world around you.
Thich Nhat Hanh says that "Mindfulness shows us what is happening in our bodies, our emotions, our minds, and in the world. Through mindfulness, we avoid harming ourselves and others." With presence and clarity gained in yoga practice, we will meditate and explore mindfulness techniques, allowing you to experience what happens for you in your body, heart, & mind when it comes to your relationship with yourself, food, and eating.
We've all got to eat. How you perceive yourself has a direct effect on how you eat and nourish yourself – think beyond food. Explore how you take all things in, how you digest, process, absorb, nourish, and release. As you shine the light of awareness on what limits your experience in your body and life, the opportunity to create change arises. This retreat gives you space to see and feel into your truth, while leaning into the support of sangha (community). Mindful Eating & Yoga is a safe place to begin, to explore, and to empower yourself.
Sky Meadow Retreat Center offers peaceful space inside and out and is devoted to conscious living. We will enjoy the warmth of the wood stove and community space in the barn. Imagine quiet, cool walks in the gardens and woods, or by the ponds. Slow down and watch the natural world transform from winter to spring and embrace the seasonal rhythm and shift. Weather permitting, trails on the grounds lead to seven different swimming ponds, hilltop vistas, a meditation hut, and tipi. We will gather in the dance pavilion for a purge and burn ceremony. Outside of yoga and workshop sessions, you are welcome to schedule a massage in the healing space above the barn, connect with others, or take time for relaxation and reflection - whatever nourishes you.
